WIN a great three-night break for two
at a top Isle of Man hotel

Thirty-three miles long by 13 miles wide, and located half way between England and Ireland, the Isle of Man is a blend of spectacular coastline and undulating hills presenting unlimited opportunities for walking and wildlife watching.

With terrain varying from rugged coast and hills to wetland and moorland, the Island boasts a wide variety of birds and other wildlife and is a must for all countryside lovers. Explore with a gentle stroll through any of the 17 national glens or take a more challenging hike. Long-distance walkers can attempt the 100-mile coastal path or the 28-mile Millennium Way stretching across the hills from Ramsey to Castletown.

With its many different landscapes and breathtaking scenery, it’s said that every type of landscape found in the British Isles can also be found on the Island: layered cliffs, purple mountains, gorse clad valley slopes, sandy beaches and woodland glens.

The Isle of Man walking scene is ideal for beginners or leisure walkers right up to the experienced rambler. Whether it be walks or circular trails that can take just a few hours or less, to conquering100 miles of coastal footpath or striving to reach the summit of Snaefell (2036 feet), the highest point in the Isle of Man, the Island has it all.

In 2007 the Isle of Man is hosting a three-day Autumn Walking Festival being held on the 11th – 14th October.   The festival offers exciting and numerous guided walks for all ages and interest, followed by organised social events in the evening including live music and dancing.
